About The Position

ROLE DESCRIPTION Focus/Objective: Primary: To maintain and repair gasoline, liquid propane, diesel and electric powered industrial trucks, and other transport equipment to control production and downtime costs. Primary: To support and promote lean manufacturing practices and principles. Primary: To work flexible shifts as required by business needs. Primary: To continue your education in order to meet job requirements. Secondary: Perform special duties or assignments as required throughout maintenance.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of powered truck construction and auto mechanics with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • change parts as required.
  • Understand purpose of symbols used in and information provided on electrical diagrams, including block, single line, schematic, wiring, connection and raceway diagrams.
  • Skillful in using all tools. Hand and power tools, diagnostic tools, precision measurement tool.
  • Know preventive maintenance of automotive equipment.
  • Understanding of “P.I.T. Cost of Ownership” while assessing repairs and service.
  • Knowledge of power drive train systems.
  • Understanding of hydraulic lifting mechanisms and their principles.
  • Understands components and operation of various types of valves and valve actuators used in hydraulic systems.
  • Able to frequently crawl under; climb over and around equipment to make repairs.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Good electrical aptitude.
  • Trained and has demonstrated compliance for Electrical LOTO requirements per NFPA 70E.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Note: Job requires some heavy lifting. (0-35 pounds frequently, 35-100 pounds occasionally)
  • Willing to work flexible hours, shifts, and weekends when needed.
  • Good organizational skills, communication skills, self-directed and able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have an excellent work record.
  • Competent in EAM
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office programs

Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced skills in maintaining and repairing electric, liquid propane, gasoline and diesel powered industrial trucks.
  • Help support P.I.T. battery strategies and liquid propane depot.
  • Determines timely repair and part replacement to equipment.
  • Ensure quality & safety standards are met; report unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries per Andersen’s Safety Policy.
  • Participate in all required training.
  • Provide a training plan to your supervisor each year for approval.
  • Ensure workspace is clean, safe and organized.
  • Provide input and feedback to supervisor in regard to job performance.
  • Able to support lean manufacturing.
  • Assist or perform other departmental jobs as directed.
