About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be Responsible for ensuring that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical equipment. This Includes reporting. This role will report to the Maintenance/Facilities Manager. The focus of the Maintenance Technician roll is to assist in providing both a reactive and proactive approach to maintenance service on all operational equipment and facility infrastructure.

Requirements

Associate or vocational certificate of training from an accredited institute is required.
5-7 years relevant experience in maintenance, trade, and manufacturing environment.
Excellent oral and written proficiency in the English language.
Maintenance skills: Knowledge of Good manufacturing processes (GMP’s).
Ability to work well under pressure.
Deadline oriented.
IT skills - Proficiency in using common PC applications
Excellent ability to work with others.
Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.
Vocalize and explain detailed data and problem-solve, both in-person and by telephone
Must have good communication skills (both verbal and written)
Compose routine correspondence on own initiative
Make comprehensive notes in English
May involve a large volume of such composition.
Must have ability to work well under pressure
Must be able to lift 30-lbs onto waist high shelves
Must be able to lift and carry a min of 25lbs.
Employee will frequently use fingers, walk and distinguish basic colors.
Employee will continuously use both hands, sit for extended periods of time, and use rapid or well-developed coordination simultaneously.
Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly

Responsibilities

Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Maintenance activities.
Assist with data base of all work request internal and external.
Assist with scheduling all associated project with relevant vendors and contractors.
Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
Assist the process of the introduction of new machinery, plant, and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.
Assist written reports and make presentations.
Undertake continuous training and development.
Performs other duties as assigned.
