Requirements

  • Associates Degree or equivalent or four to six years building and equipment maintenance experience and/ or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Forklift Operator, Driver’s License required

Nice To Haves

  • Power and hand tools, forklift truck, electric cart, power lifts and overhead crane experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Make departmental rearrangements
  • Repair and maintain building systems including water, compressed air, heating and air conditioning
  • Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment
  • Build and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures
  • Requisition of material and supplies to complete repairs and installations
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Follow all Barnes company policies and procedures diligently and effectively
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
