About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity at our Sherman, TX location for a Weekend Shift Maintenance Technician (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM). In this role, you will support plant operations by maintaining equipment and facilities, troubleshooting mechanical systems, and responding to maintenance needs to ensure safe and reliable production. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Provide troubleshooting and repair support to the production areas within the Sherman Campus to include all production machines, assembly test equipment, equipment assigned to the building such as boilers, high volume air compressors, HVAC systems, building plumbing, building electrical and facility repair and maintenance. Perform preventative maintenance activities. Provide Kaizen and Safety department support. Update AutoCAD drawings as assigned. Attend training seminars. Work closely with Non-Product Buyer and other maintenance technicians as required. Perform equipment moves and set up meeting rooms for plant activities. Know and follow all safety and quality guidelines, policies, and procedures. Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Supervisor or Manager. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of a two-year technical/Associate’s degree or four (4) years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance troubleshooting and repair.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, network management, electrical, mechanical, electronics, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and NEC regulations pertaining to safety and maintenance responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of construction and building systems repair.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and high work areas.
  • Professionally communicate with co-workers, machine operators, and management as requested.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
  • Working knowledge of math fundamentals, including algebra and trigonometry.
  • Ability to learn to use and interpret test equipment including but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, mechanical gauges, and indicators.
  • Ability to interpret prints and schematics.
  • Certification/Licensing as required. (i.e. local code license for electrical, plumbing, etc.)
  • Ability to learn and obtain certifications (as required) to operate various material moving equipment, power hand tools, and overhead hoists.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and perform cross functional job assignments.
  • Flexibility in work hours; available to work occasional to frequent overtime.
  • Legal authorization to work in the Unites States- no sponsorship provided.
