Requirements

  • You have a High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
  • Formal education or training in a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in the listed areas or five (5) years experience in a production environment.
  • Steel fabrication
  • Sheet metal fabrication
  • Machine controls / PLC programming
  • Arc welding; structural and sheet metal
  • General carpentry
  • Plumbing
  • Pipe fitting, copper, steel and PVC
  • Repair of mechanical equipment: Compressors, Pumps, Pneumatic devices, Electronic equipment/devices, Hydraulic equipment, HVAC equipment, Refrigeration systems.
  • Possess a strong background in electrical wiring (including 3-phase wiring) and electrical/electronic machine controls and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain plant services in support of manufacturing operations and assist in the fabrication of special jigs, fixtures, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance at regular intervals on plant equipment including air compressors, HVAC air handling units, chillers, dryers, cooling towers, modular heaters (gas), etc.
  • Troubleshoot and repair various electrical/mechanical/electronic equipment within the plant including compressors, vacuum pumps, light fixtures, exhaust fans, security devices, molding presses, production assembly equipment, HVAC equipment, dock levelers, etc.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC’s and similar machine control devices.
  • Document handling of refrigerants within the plant in accordance with EPA regulations and plant procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures including toilets, sinks, water fountains, urinals, emergency showers, drain systems, etc.
  • Connect, disconnect, move, and install equipment into desired locations.
  • Provide building services to new or relocated equipment.
  • Assist in general maintenance of the building and grounds including cleaning, painting, housekeeping, handling and disposal of solid/hazardous waste, and recyclable materials.
  • All other assignments deemed necessary while under the direction of the Technical Services Manager
