The Maintenance Technician will be performing pipefitting and welding tasks in the maintenance shop and in the field at various elevations to maintain, repair or replace equipment in a chemical manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor, and this is an onsite position in our Waggaman, LA facility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience
Have proficient computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
Ability to effectively read and interpret policies, and procedures.
Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of you, your co-workers and the environment.

Nice To Haves

AA Degree or Technical Certificates and/or licenses preferred.
Millwright/Mechanic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and schematics for installation specifications.
Maintain equipment (pumps, turbines, compressors, piping, etc.) to precisely stated specifications.
Rebuild and/or fabricates parts and performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
Perform work inside vessels and tanks.
Perform plumbing repairs and pipe replacement, insulation repair and replacement.
Perform repairs using hand tools such as relief valve and gate valve replacements.
Operate forklifts and man lifts.
Frequently stand, walk, climb and lift.
Occasionally requires overtime and callouts on weekends, nights and holidays.
Completes all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
