This is a hands-on position performing general maintenance duties to keep the facility in good operating condition.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of experience in general maintenance.
  • Able to read and understand English.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems as it relates to maintenance.
  • Skill in mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance to include painting, carpentry, plumbing and repair.
  • Maintain shop equipment and workstation with attention to safety and housekeeping.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various pieces of mechanical equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Facility Engineer.
