The General Maintenance Technician makes repairs to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, tube and plumbing systems. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as assigned or otherwise required.

Requirements

• Education: High school graduate or GED. Technical training in mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and/or plumbing.
• Licensure / Certification: Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.
• Experience: Minimum one year experience in repair/maintenance boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and/or general maintenance.
• Effective Communication Skills
• Ability to function with minimum supervision.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read control drawings pertaining to temperature control systems.
• Knowledge of basic computer applications.
• Physical demands including working in 100+ degree environments, lifting objects up to 80 pounds, and work at heights of 20 feet or more from ladders.
• Must have a valid Ohio drivers license.

Nice To Haves

• Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining all areas of his zone.
• Coordinates repairs with other staff and agencies to assure compliance with local codes, guidelines, and informs supervisor of any problems.
• Responsible for meeting required standards established around the organization's commitment to promote customer satisfaction, economics, productivity, innovation, people growth, and organizational climate.
• Make rounds and equipment checks as required.
• Perform painting and cosmetic repairs.
