About the role
Our Maintenance team, composed of 7 people, is integrated in the Maintenance department and focuses on Plant Reliability in collaboration with other Plant teams.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will work on troubleshooting and repairing all plant mechanical and process equipment, including installing and commissioning new equipment in collaboration with I&E Technicians and maintenance Planner/scheduler. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the Parachute maintenance team and have a positive impact on the Soda Ash and Derivatives Business Unit.

Requirements

• Relevant education degree or technical certifications. Hands-on work experience in rotating equipment, manlifts, forklifts, skid steer, backhoe and hand tools.
• Required to perform work at heights, operate elevated work platform, forklift and other associated plant equipment as specified.
• Complies with all Solvay Life Saving Rules, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental policies and procedures.
• SAP knowledge is a plus with relevant welding / Millwright certification is a requirement.
• Works well with others and is a great team player and works well under pressure and regularly meets deadlines.
• Great personality and can communicate effectively while maintaining good leadership skills and self-motivation.
• Proficient using computers and other smart tools for work.

Nice To Haves

• SAP knowledge is a plus with relevant welding / Millwright certification is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing plant process equipment and facilities.
• Interfacing with plant operations and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
• Mentoring and leading other mechanics on the repairs to mechanical equipment either on site or in the shop.
• Ensuring that repairs/modifications are within specified standards.
• Performing preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) of plant process equipment and welding / fabrication activities that meets technical standards.

While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $29.83 to $45.03 per hour, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience.
