You will join the Apps Onboarding & Enablement team, part of the Platform & Data Area at Mercedes-Benz.io. The team operates at the intersection of platform services and development teams. It is responsible for Kubernetes and Docker platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud operations automation, with a strong focus on customer enablement, reliability, and cost optimization.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Experience automating infrastructure or platform operations using Python or Bash
  • Practical experience with Terraform, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid Linux and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Comfort working in agile teams using Scrum or Kanban

Nice To Haves

  • FinOps experience, including cost optimization tools such as Karpenter or Goldilocks
  • Cloud migration experience including IaaS, lift‑and-shift, or re‑architecture projects

Responsibilities

  • Operate and continuously improve Docker- and Kubernetes-based platforms running on AWS
  • Ensure Kubernetes environments are reliable, scalable, and released to production without downtime
  • Automate platform and infrastructure operations using Python, Bash, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform services and application deployments
  • Enable and support development teams onboarding and running applications on Kubernetes as a trusted technical partner
  • Improve and document platform processes for onboarding, operations, and optimization
  • Monitor platform health and performance using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch
  • Investigate and resolve issues across Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, and cloud infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with developers, security teams, and project managers
  • Contribute to cloud cost optimization and FinOps initiatives
