About The Position

As a Maintenance Technician at Z-Modular in Midland, TX, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment in an industrial environment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, along with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues to ensure safe, efficient operations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Technical or Trade School certification preferred
  • Ability to obtain certification for in-house crane, fork truck, and other mobile equipment operation
  • Welding experience and prior manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of equipment and machinery through diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications
  • Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Proficient in following written and verbal instructions
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office application
  • Ability to stand for 10–12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Perform essential job functions including maintenance, inspections, and general upkeep
  • Move throughout the facility regularly, including stairs, ladders, and confined spaces, in indoor and outdoor environments
  • Engage in frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and repetitive tasks
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds
  • Visually assess equipment and read manuals/work orders to identify maintenance or safety issues
  • Hear and respond to equipment sounds and team communication
  • Follow all established safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote safe and healthy work practices in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Inspect and maintain engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
  • Troubleshoot plant electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, drives, and relays
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges
  • Fabricate and repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories by monitoring stock levels and anticipating needs
  • Stay current on technical knowledge by participating in workshops, reviewing publications, and building professional networks
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support operational efficiency
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including regular, full-time, onsite attendance according to shift schedules
