About The Position

The Maintenance Technician located in Grandview, MO reports to our Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing various routine and specially instructed electrical and mechanical maintenance and construction tasks throughout the plant and grounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work from generally accepted maintenance procedures or special instructions, prints and diagrams provided by suppliers or supervisors. Perform electrical work such as: Cut, bend and run conduit. Pull and connect appropriately sized and insulated wire for load specified. Connect standard controls, lighting ballasts, switches. Perform plumbing and pipefitting work such as: Replacing fixtures, gaskets, washers, valves, pipe etc., running new water, air, gas and sewage lines. Perform carpentry work such as: Construct partitions, shop offices, benches, shelving, boxes, containers, etc., hang doors; replace glass, insulate ceiling, walls, doors, repair roofs, paint floors, walls, etc., assemble racks, carts, shelving, etc. Perform routine and/or scheduled machine maintenance and repairs such as: Grease, oil and lubricate, change oils, filters and routinely worn parts. Repair and/or replace bearings, seals, motors, pumps. Perform other maintenance and construction work as directed. Use available safety equipment and observe shop safety procedures. Keep the work area(s) neat and clean. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s): Performance on electrical work Performance on routine and/or scheduled machine maintenance and repairs Generally accepted maintenance procedures or special instructions

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and use prints, diagrams and simple schematics.
  • Competent in the routine use of electrical, pipefitting, carpentry , painting and related hand tools, machines and test devices.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
  • Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility
  • Ability to control operation of hand or foot
  • Ability to lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion
