The Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled position combining electrical and mechanical duties. This role involves the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various electrical equipment, including power and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices, and building electrical systems. It also includes the installation and maintenance of electronic, analog, digital, and hybrid machines, as well as troubleshooting sophisticated electronic control systems. Additionally, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and alignment of production machinery, lubrication and hydraulic systems, diagnosis and repair of components, disassembly-move-reassembly of machinery and equipment, welding, piping, and repair of analog, digital, hydraulic, and pneumatic powered and controlled equipment and precision machinery. Requirements

  • Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program, or equivalent technical school training in electrician or related field or equivalent OJT.
  • Required to complete the full apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman.
  • May be subject to successful completion of the Trane Apprenticeship Program.
  • Ability to work in high places and confined spaces.
  • Demonstrated reliability.
  • Subject to completion of company-approved aptitude testing.
  • May be required to pass, hold and maintain a State of Wisconsin Electrician license.
  • Ability to utilize manuals, electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform assigned electrical and mechanical PMs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns on any and all company equipment.
  • Ability to enter and complete work orders into CMMS.
  • Ability to operate all hand tools – power and manual.
  • Ability to operate all shop equipment – familiar with CNC controls.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to receive work instructions from a member of management or a team lead.
  • Must follow standard work, complete production and maintenance records and other documentation related to operations.
  • Ability to participate in basic problem solving, 5-S, and lean activities.
  • Ability to perform the above duties with no additional training required.
  • Must meet and maintain all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of a variety of electrical equipment including power and control wiring, motors, controls, electronic devices and building electrical maintenance.
  • Perform installation and maintenance of electronic, analog, digital and hybrid machines.
  • Troubleshoot sophisticated electronic control systems.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, and alignment of production machinery.
  • Manage lubrication and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair components.
  • Disassemble, move, and reassemble machinery and equipment.
  • Perform welding and piping.
  • Repair analog, digital, hydraulic and pneumatic powered and controlled equipment and precision machinery.
  • Utilize manuals, electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Perform assigned electrical and mechanical PMs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns on any and all company equipment.
