Maintenance Technician Position at Trinity Elms Campus Trinity Elms Campus is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Technician! Compensation and Schedule Pay: $18 per hr. Schedule: Monday–Friday (With on-call rotation) 3 years of Maintenance experience is preferred. Essential Functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Performs preventative maintenance of equipment. Diagnoses equipment problems. Makes repairs to equipment. Is familiar with and experienced in swimming pool and sauna tub systems and maintenance. Interacts with staff, residents, vendors, and regulatory agency personnel on a regular basis. Serves as first responder in emergencies, including administering first aid; utilizes emergency firefighting and medical equipment. Operates two-way radio. Communicates with emergency personnel. Serves as security officer on first shift. Must be prepared to work any shift. Must be prepared to serve on-call 24/7 every 5th week, or as scheduled. Performs other duties as specified by the Maintenance Supervisor and Director. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of maintenance or maintenance-related experience. Specific Skills and Abilities The Maintenance Technician must possess a high skill level in the following disciplines: Electricity and electrical circuits, both AC and DC. Switch gear up to 480 VAC. HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, gas-fired heating systems, and heat pumps. Plumbing, piping systems, fire sprinkler systems, valves, soldering and brazing of copper, and threading of pipe. Carpentry, framing, trim work, layout, and design. TV and telephone systems, cable and wire splicing, troubleshooting of equipment. Painting, preparation of surfaces, drywall repair, plaster repair, operation of air compressors and paint spray equipment. Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, layout drawings, and electrical schematics. Understanding of building codes and building structures, including foundations, footings, roof structure, doors, and windows. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, Life Safety Code, and Fire Code regulations. Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, minor automobile repair, and generator equipment. Familiarity with power tools and the use of associated safety equipment. Patience when dealing with difficult staff and residents. Specialized Knowledge and Certifications A valid North Carolina driver’s license is required. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Must be ambulatory throughout all locations. Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead. Working hours may sometimes be unpredictable. Possible exposure to chemicals and toxic substances. Possible exposure to garbage and waste materials. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
