About The Position

Fitch Irick Corporation has been a trusted leader in affordable housing development and property management for over 30 years, managing over 12,000 units across 250 properties in the Southeastern U.S. Their mission is to improve communities and the lives of residents by providing safe, high-quality affordable housing. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be crucial in ensuring properties run smoothly and safely, working with a dedicated team to maintain living spaces and ensure a high quality of life for residents. The role involves handling routine maintenance and emergency repairs, requiring a proactive, detail-oriented individual passionate about keeping communities in great shape.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of general maintenance experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset.
  • This role requires physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds, bending, stooping, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • You should be reliable, collaborative, and able to take ownership of your tasks.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to occasionally travel between properties.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in property management is a plus.
  • EPA/CFC certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the upkeep of the grounds, buildings, and amenities. This includes cleaning, trash removal, and regular inspections to ensure everything looks and functions at its best.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to prevent issues before they arise. You’ll make sure all systems—HVAC, plumbing, electrical—are operating smoothly.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption for residents.
  • When residents move out, you’ll help get units ready for the next resident, ensuring each space is clean, functional, and up to Fitch Irick’s high standards.
  • Handle emergency repairs efficiently and ensure incidents are documented for insurance purposes.
  • Keep the property compliant with all safety regulations and Fair Housing standards.
