About The Position

ENGINEERING / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN DoubleTree by Hilton South Bend Keep our hotel running at its best—behind the scenes and front of house. We are seeking a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our full-service hotel, including guestrooms, banquet space, restaurant, and on-site Starbucks. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM Hilton Travel Benefits – discounted stays worldwide Employee Meal Program – meals during your shift On-site Starbucks Growth opportunities within Hilton brand properties Stable, full-time work in a dynamic hospitality environment WHAT YOU WILL DO Maintain and repair guestrooms, public spaces, kitchen, and mechanical systems Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems Complete preventative maintenance (PMs) and respond to work orders Monitor and respond to life safety systems Perform general repairs including carpentry, painting, wall covering, lighting, and furniture Support laundry and kitchen equipment maintenance Maintain clean, organized workspaces and supply carts Communicate effectively with leadership on project status and needs WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 2–5 years of experience in commercial or institutional maintenance preferred Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems Experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred Basic skills in carpentry, painting, and general repairs Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Valid driver’s license preferred Pool certification a plus PHYSICAL AND WORK REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently Ability to stand and move for extended periods Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working in varied conditions Ability to respond to urgent or emergency maintenance needs WHAT SETS YOU APART Strong sense of urgency and accountability Ability to stay organized and follow through on tasks Professional approach when handling challenging situations Team-oriented mindset with willingness to cross-train ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain chemical levels in mechanical systems Assist with irrigation and sprinkler repairs Report unsafe conditions immediately Support signage, key control, and facility upkeep Attend required meetings and trainings JOIN OUR TEAM At DoubleTree South Bend, our Engineering team plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality guest experience. Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in commercial or institutional maintenance preferred
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
