SUMMARY Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, production machines and equipment. Performs advanced troubleshooting, works with general supervision and may provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of production or processing equipment; observes and listens to operating machines, mechanical devices or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. May use hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools; replaces defective part with new part or repairs. Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, tool maker, maintenance lead/supervisor, to diagnose malfunction. Troubleshoot, upgrade, and repair machine control circuitry/controls. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, electrical multi-meter, gages, etc. May initiate purchase order for parts and machines. Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM. May be assigned to a specific area of the business i.e., Can Making, Can Filling or General Maintenance Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.
