Requirements

  • Must have a solid organizational, analytical problem solving and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Being able to resolve issues/problems that involve numerous variables in demanding situations.
  • Required to manipulate, lift and position heavy equipment.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and crawl.
  • Must be able to work in a cool environment of less than 60 degrees F.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50lbs.
  • Requires occasional climbing of steps, safety ladders.
  • Requires continuous walking and standing.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and equipment breakdowns.
  • Effectively support the PM program while keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Perform preventative and repair maintenance on production equipment, heating and cooling systems, ingredient handling systems and plumbing systems.
  • Start machines and equipment to test operation flowing repair.
  • Record preventative maintenance tasks and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Complete work orders and respond to maintenance calls on the production floor in a timely manner to prevent downtime.
  • Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul production equipment.
  • Install and maintain electrical equipment/controls, circuits and PLC.
  • Troubleshoot and identify worn parts and rebuild machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves, valve actuators and other equipment.
  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and requirements.
  • Maintain good sanitation and housekeeping of work areas.
  • All employees are responsible for food safety including, but not limited to practicing GMP’s and appropriate food defense techniques.
