About The Position

Poindexter Place, a senior apartment community located in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Part-time Maintenance Technician for 20 hours per week. This role is integral to advancing better living and care for seniors within the community. National Church Residences, the organization operating Poindexter Place, is a large nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing and manager of service coordinators, serving over 46,000 seniors across more than 360 communities in the U.S. The organization also offers residential senior communities, home and community-based services, and permanent supportive housing for the formerly homeless and disabled. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of residential or apartment maintenance experience required
  • Skilled in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical/vocational training preferred
  • Relevant certifications (HVAC, OSHA, etc.) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
  • Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain interior and exterior common areas, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  • Complete minor carpentry, painting, appliance, and general repairs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior maintenance staff, when applicable.
  • Manage inventory and submit maintenance records and reports.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and building codes.
