About The Position

The Maintenance Technician completes work assignments and priorities by utilizing policies, data, and resources, and by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners. This involves identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carrying out tasks, communicating progress, and recommending improvements. The role requires compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards, including using the Open Door Policy. Furthermore, the technician is expected to demonstrate and encourage respect for others, foster a positive associate and customer experience, embrace diversity, build strong relationships, act with integrity, follow company policies, and strive for excellence through continuous improvement, feedback, and innovation. This includes supporting Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact.

Requirements

  • 2 years industrial maintenance experience working with electrical, electronics, and mechanical equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyers, building equipment, automated equipment)
  • Experience working with blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals

Responsibilities

  • Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Read and understand technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems with equipment where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
  • Clean and maintain grounds, parking lots, fencing, and building facilities (e.g., bathrooms, plumbing).
  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (e.g., lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, banana room equipment, electronic and electrical equipment) according to procedures.
  • Demonstrate and encourage respect for others, drive a positive associate and customer/member experience, embrace differences, and support inclusive workplaces.
  • Demonstrate engagement and commitment to the team, develop others through feedback, coaching, mentoring, and developmental opportunities, and recognize others' contributions.
