About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains a wide variety of industrial equipment, machines, and assemblies. The person in this position also diagnoses problems and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments to equipment and machinery within the facility. This is a second shift position (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
2 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician or similar position
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Able to work second shift and weekends
Must have a valid driver's license
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Willingness to learn new technologies and systems

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with schematics, preferred

Responsibilities

Perform repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment minimizing downtime.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical and or other issues as needed.
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Complete preventive maintenance requirements per company or manufacturing guidelines to ensure all equipment is in good working conditions.
Operate any machine or machine tool in the machine shop and complete any job on these machines as required.
Examine machinery and equipment for defects in operation and remove, repair, and replace defective parts.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
Collaborate with other teams to complete assigned tasks and projects.
Using micrometers, make fits on and replace bearings, as well as other machine parts, to specified tolerances.
Make minor electrical repairs when the electrician is not available.
Order parts and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance program.
May be asked to train others if needed.
Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Follow all company policies and procedures and bring to the attention of the supervisor any concerns.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Perform repairs and maintenance on forklifts.
Drive forklift as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
