This position is responsible for assisting other maintenance personnel in preventative maintenance and repair assignments. Duties include retrieving tools, parts, and supplies, cleaning work areas, and performing checks, troubleshooting, and repairs of various systems such as appliances, air conditioners, heaters, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems in utility and construction type facilities. The technician will also assist other maintenance personnel, determine material and equipment requirements from specifications, select efficient work procedures, and perform general building maintenance tasks like repairing or replacing floors, ceilings, sills, joists, rafters, siding, roofing, stairways, doors, door hardware, windows, screens, glass, plaster/drywall, concrete, and masonry. The role also involves sharpening, cleaning, storing, lubricating, adjusting, and repairing tools and equipment, maintaining piping systems and fixtures, examining and repairing electrical circuits, painting, diagnosing and repairing major appliances, applying chemicals as instructed, maintaining accurate records and logs, and managing pools including chemicals, circulation/filtration, safety equipment, and rules. Daily trash and debris pickup is also required, along with other assigned duties.
