About The Position

Repair or replace defective part or equipment using appropriate tools and processes. Perform emergency assessments and repairs on facility equipment as needed. Follows and complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Operate all tools and necessary equipment associated with making repairs or replacing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, following all related instruction and/or guidelines. Attends training programs (classroom and/or virtual) as designated.  (20%) 2. Perform general and specific inspections of facilities and properties of GLBHC, make assessments, and formulate a plan for maintenance action. Perform preventive building maintenance duties, detect malfunction, and needed repair. Document according to specific reporting and document tools. (15%) 3. Maintain facility appearance of the exterior/interior of all buildings including but not limited to parking areas, sidewalks, seasonal salting and clean up as needed to prevent slips, trips, and falls (etc), interior hallways, offices, other workspace and other areas as needed or specified. May be asked to assist in providing assessments of general repair for budgeting projections in accordance with facility planning. (15%) 4. Process work orders and assigned duties with professionalism and diligence. Perform routine painting, carpentry work, caulking of windows etc.; routine plumbing repairs such as but not limited to unstopping toilets, urinals, sinks etc; perform routine electrical maintenance such as but not limited to, repair fixtures (i.e., wall fixtures, outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, tubes, ballast, sockets etc.); perform general routine HVAC assessments as specified and assigned tasks associated with heating and cooling systems as appropriate. (20%) 5. Purchase materials and goods associated with job duties with cost/value discretion to complete assigned work requests and project assignments. (5%) 6. Reconfigure building workspace to include but not limited to: installation, positioning and work with modular office equipment, stationary office space (i.e., furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, file cabinets etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various tools and moving equipment etc. May be required to use hand and power tools and equipment to perform basic carpentry functions. (15%) 7. Configure meeting rooms set up specific to various GLBHC locations and associated meeting rooms. Work as a team member with other key staff in the set-up, configuration, specific needs, and other support as needed. (5%) 8. Operate assigned company vehicles, to include mobile dental and medical vehicles, in the process of completing assigned work tasks using appropriate safety and compliance with company rules and State laws. Requirements

  • Education: Possession of a High school diploma or equivalent, GED.
  • Licensure: Chauffeur’s Driver’s License required. Must maintain a “cleared” status with the MVR to meet GLBHC’s standards for driving company vehicles.
  • Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance, facilities, skilled trades and/or equivalent.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented.
  • Work independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Professional behavior, able to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Physical Effort: Heavy. Able to lift up to 60 lbs. All types of weather.
  • Hours of Work: Full-time. Flexible and varied.
  • Telecommuting is not available for this position.
  • Travel: Local travel between sites. Company vehicle available. Mileage and travel reimbursement according to GLBHC travel policy.
