About The Position

Teknor Apex, founded in 1924, is an international custom compounder with nine U.S. locations and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. The company has remained privately held, maintaining a family tradition of fostering deep employee and customer relationships to deliver customized compound solutions. Manufacturing is described as a team sport, emphasizing collaboration to achieve goals. This position is for a Maintenance Technician to join the team behind their custom compounds.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly to others
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Mechatronics or related field
  • Electrical Experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installation, service and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Assist in training entry level team members
  • Able to carry out assignments with minimum supervision
  • Understand and follow all safety procedures
  • Use electrical test equipment to test electrical circuits and equipment
  • Size and install conduit, wires, breaker, fuses, starters, motors, and other electrical equipment in accordance with the National Electric Code
  • Troubleshoot AC and DC motors and motor drives
  • Understand PLC operations, troubleshooting and ladder logic diagrams
  • Perform equipment PMs and complete work order documentation using CMMS
  • Read and interpret documentation such as electrical schematics, manuals and technical bulletins
  • Operate a forklift, scissor lift and JLG
  • Plan and organize individual work
  • Perform work in a timely manner
  • Maintain good housekeeping throughout plant and shop
  • Work overtime on short notice and anytime needed
  • Occasional operation of company vehicle/truck
  • Other duties and related responsibilities as required
