About the Role The Maintenance Technician Trainee is responsible for supports the maintenance and upkeep of the property to ensure efficient operations and client/tenant satisfaction. This is a growth-oriented role designed to develop technical skills through hands-on experience, job shadowing, formal training, and practical application alongside the onsite engineering team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the reliability and performance of our buildings, creating safe, functional environments for tenants, clients, and patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be located in Libertyville, IL area with availability for after-hours emergencies and participation in on-call rotation
  • Must be in office (onsite) 5 days a week
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, and perform extensive walking
  • Basic computer skills and comfort using maintenance or work order software
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

Responsibilities

  • Assist in completing work orders related to physical maintenance and repairs of assigned buildings using work order software systems.
  • Support routine physical improvements to the property.
  • Respond to emergencies in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining equipment, tools, supplies, stock inventories, and logs.
  • Communicate building status and changes effectively to appropriate individuals.
  • Adhere to all safety standards, policies and procedures, codes of conduct, and industry best practices.
  • Act professionally and courteously at all times with tenants, hospital clients, co-workers, vendors, and patients.
  • Use materials, supplies, tools, and building property safely and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
