About The Position

As a Maintenance Technician II, you would be responsible for maintaining the guestrooms, public spaces, and back of the house areas in good repair, ensuring an attractive and well-maintained property with a primary focus on guest relations and problem resolution. Assignments involve a variety of skills including painting, stucco, texturing, drywall, staining, knockdown, and popcorn ceilings. The role requires working well with customers and staff members to drive company success. Key tasks include interacting with guests for problem resolution, basic appliance troubleshooting and repair, basic air-conditioning controls, intermediate skills in drywall, painting/staining, and wall vinyl repairs. You will also troubleshoot plumbing fixtures, including drain cleaning, change filters, maintain all guestroom and public space equipment, replace caulk, tile/grout, and repair doors including locking mechanisms and hinges. Other duties involve inspecting rooms for pest intrusion, inspecting and replacing cosmetic appliance components, replacing light bulbs and ballasts, repairing closet/drapery tracks, replacing and staining furniture, repairing knicks and gouges, replacing remote control batteries, unclogging toilets and sinks, touch-up paint, and gluing peeling wallpaper. The position also entails executing planned scheduled preventative maintenance, replacing faulty plumbing components, maintaining accurate functioning of all equipment and tools, establishing clear communication with engineering leadership, assisting other maintenance staff on special projects, and responding to all guest requests to ensure client satisfaction. Detailed record keeping in English is required for logs and inspection sheets. Additionally, the role includes security officer duties such as performing periodic and random inspections of the building and grounds to protect property from theft, embezzlement, vandalism, fire, and accidents, maintaining inspection reports, investigating security incidents, accidents, suspicious activities, safety, and fire hazards, and providing assistance to team members, guests, and owners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Can climb stairs and work on ladders up to 40 feet, push/pull up to 100 lbs., lift/carry up to 50 lbs., and grasp, stoop, reach overhead with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other maintenance staff on special projects.
  • Responding to all guest requests to ensure client satisfaction; willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be an outstanding teammate.

  • Perform periodic and random inspections of the building and grounds, protecting property from theft, embezzlement, vandalism, fire, and accidents.
  • Maintain inspection reports and records and advises management of deficiencies and remedial or disciplinary efforts to correct deficiencies.
  • Investigate all security incidents, accidents, suspicious activities, safety, and fire hazards and prepare a complete report to include statements from involved parties and witnesses.
  • Provides any needed assistance to team members, guests, and owners within the department and company guidelines.
  • Provide outstanding guest/owner service at all times including answering inquiries, directing traffic, providing directions and information for general problem solving.
  • Carry out all reasonable requests or special projects by security manager or manager on duty.
