About The Position

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician – Level II (2 nd Shift) to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in North Charleston, SC . In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Support Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly support the manufacturing business, using appropriate tools and equipment with minimal guidance. Ensure Safety Compliance : Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by reporting hazards, using personal protective equipment, and engaging in HSE training. Maintain High Quality Standards : Apply high standards of workmanship, support equipment uptime, and perform quality inspections to ensure product excellence. Optimize Equipment Performance : Conduct preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency. Promote a Safe Work Environment : Recognize and correct hazards, promote interdependence among colleagues, and minimize environmental impact through safe practices. Enhance Process Efficiency : Work with peers to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and participate in continuous improvement activities. Communicate Effectively : Maintain clear communication with your team and support staff, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration. Contribute to Team Development : Participate in training and personal development and actively engage with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess a multi-craft skillset with strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Apply basic electrical knowledge, including reading technical drawings and schematics, and understanding PLC logic and troubleshooting methods.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Experience with industrial washing and blasting equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment (Okuma, Haas, Fanuc) and Fanuc robotic systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as Maximo, is preferred.
