About The Position

The General Laborer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the beauty of a Town Park. This role involves various landscaping duties and painting tasks to ensure the park remains a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm (may vary)

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in landscaping and painting preferred.
Knowledgeable in the use of landscaping and painting tools and equipment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Perform routine landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, planting, watering, and fertilizing.
Maintain flower beds, trees, shrubs, and lawns.
Prune and trim trees and shrubs to ensure they are healthy and visually appealing.
Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, and other tools
Prepare surfaces for painting, including scraping, sanding, and priming.
Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to park structures, benches, fences, and other surfaces.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of painting tools and supplies.
Ensure all painting tasks are completed to high standards and within designated timelines.
Conduct regular inspections of the park to identify and address maintenance needs.
Assist with the setup and teardown of park events and activities.
Ensure all work areas are clean, safe, and properly maintained.
Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to the Parks and Recreation Supervisor.
