About The Position

The Maintenance Technician provides general construction and maintenance services for hospital facilities under the direction of engineering senior management. This position assesses, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and repairs facility components requiring design, life-cycle planning, repair, replacement, or new installation. This position performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, building standards, and hospital policies. The Maintenance Technician works with the facility general maintenance team in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of general building components, equipment, and apparatus to provide a comfortable and safe hospital environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 5 years of relevant construction or maintenance field experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree and/or vocational training preferred
  • 3 years of relevant hospital maintenance experience preferred
  • Professional painting, carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the temporary shutdown of facility equipment, systems, and components necessary for renovation and new construction projects.
  • Design, construct, install, and remove various facility general equipment, systems, and components.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in the facility's general equipment, systems, or components and take appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for the facility’s general equipment, systems, and components.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of replacement electrical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain the hospital computerized maintenance management system through the appropriate completion of work orders and the recording of equipment history.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on all general facility equipment, systems, and components in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Provide quality control for new installations or replacements of general facility equipment, systems, and components performed by others.
