About The Position

As a maintenance technician II, you will perform basic upkeep and assist other trade personnel with building and equipment maintenance (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, drywall, appliance, and furniture repair). You will conduct daily building walkthroughs to assess assets that require mechanical, electrical, or painting improvements, and coordinate with other departments on all necessary repairs. Responsibilities include work order completion, problem area documentation, and the operation of equipment and machines such as trucks, forklifts, and hand and power tools. You will follow all relevant schedules and timelines, notify supervisors when emergencies occur or assistance is needed, and handle on-call situations as necessary. Additionally, you will comply with all SCAD and OSHA safety regulations, policies, and procedures. If an applicant fails the DOT physical due to a claimed disability under the ADA and notifies the university, the university will engage in an interactive process with the applicant to determine if a reasonable accommodation exists that allows the applicant to perform the essential duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or a combination of education and experience
  • At least two years of experience in general maintenance and repairs
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass DOT medical exam
  • Acceptance as SCAD-authorized driver
