Interested in joining us on our journey? The Maintenance Technician II – Electrical plays a key role in ensuring reliable operation of all plant equipment and systems. This position performs skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair while applying advanced knowledge of controls and preventive maintenance practices. The role also supports other maintenance technicians, promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence across the team. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and one of the following:
  • Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical field with at least 3 years of electrical maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Equivalent trade school certification/license with 3+ of electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical training through military service with 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 5 years of current, hands-on electrical experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working with AC/DC power and PLC systems used in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience working with 480V, 220V, 120V and low volt DC electrical controls and systems.
  • Demonstrated multi-craft skill set, proficient in at least one additional trade such as pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, injection molding, or millwright work.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, technical drawings, prints, and schematics.
  • Proficiency using a variety of powered hand tools and testing equipment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, shutdowns, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
  • Capable of obtaining and maintaining annual medical clearance requirements for respirator use and plant-wide access.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Ability to lift or move components up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, or crawling.
  • Manual dexterity with both hands and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts and tools.
  • Talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
  • Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and occasional outdoor conditions.
  • May work at heights or in confined spaces and be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibration, or risk of electrical shock.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Servo Drives, including parameter adjustment and replacement.
  • Apply working knowledge of AC/DC power systems, including single-phase and three-phase configurations.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment reliability.
  • Assist in equipment installation, calibration, and adjustment to maintain process accuracy.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Complete maintenance records accurately and follow established reporting procedures.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Safely operate a wide range of powered hand tools, air/electric guns, and vibratory equipment.
  • Follow all established safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure proper lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and other safety measures are consistently applied to prevent injury or equipment damage
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe work areas in alignment with 5S and housekeeping expectations.
