Maintenance Technician I (Jackson Commons Unit One)
About The Position
WinnCompanies is looking for a dependable Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Jackson Commons Unit One, a 37-unit tax credit community located in Boston, MA. In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots maintaining the property to satisfy ownership and management objectives. The pay range for this role is $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Please note that selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. This is a full-time position with rotational on call duties.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year or less of relevant work experience in apartment maintenance.
- A current driver's license in good standing and ability to meet the driving records standards outlined in the Company Safe Vehicular Operations Policy.
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, HVAC, and/or carpentry.
- Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability for on-call activity during off-hours for urgent needs.
Nice To Haves
- Vocational or technical training.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- CAMT certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting and basic electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
- Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
- Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance to company standards.
- Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.
- Be available for on call activity during off hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.
