About The Position

The HVAC Maintenance/Grounds Worker is responsible for the operation, repair, maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. To perform a variety of scheduled maintenance and service work maintaining various mechanical systems and equipment at the Wawa Dairy. The HVAC Maintenance/Grounds Worker is responsible for minor building repairs, drain clearing, painting, snow removal and salting, cleaning and maintaining outside of buildings and grounds, all grass cutting and landscaping.

Requirements

  • HVAC Certification Required
  • Must provide own tools!
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Five (5) years practical mechanical experience
  • Previous HVAC experience required
  • Ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must be able to follow safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
  • Required to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices for Food Safety
  • Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to withstand exposure to noisy environments.
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
  • Must be able climb ladders of varying heights and perform various functions
  • Must be able to push/pull a manual pallet fork truck, up to 1000 pounds and/or ability to operate an electric fork truck

Responsibilities

  • Completes scheduled maintenance on various building mechanical systems.
  • Servicing work includes filter replacement, cleaning of equipment components, vents and lubrications (motors, fans, etc.).
  • Performs building maintenance tasks (i.e., replacing ceiling tiles, cove base, light bulbs and mounting signs, electrical outlets and switches, and painting).
  • Maintains an inventory of replacement parts and places orders as needed.
  • Maintains and cleans mechanical equipment rooms and workspaces.
  • Must be able to operate and make repairs to seasonal equipment (i.e., trimmers, zero turn mower, hedge trimmers, skid steer, backhoe/loader, snowplow and snow blower).
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and refrigeration codes and practices; coordinates work between and with other trades
  • Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment related to buildings and grounds.
  • Responds to any emergency repair/maintenance situation as required
  • Assist outside contractors
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
