About The Position

The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd shift) to support our Cicero, IL facility. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools, as well as fitting, and assembling parts to fabricate or repair machine tools. Additionally, you will maintain industrial machines and install /repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Ability for 2nd and 3rd shift work and over-time as required.
  • Ability to read simple prints (wiring diagrams).
  • Ability to perform basic A/C motor troubleshooting.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical installations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic control circuits.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic technique (splicing, box installation, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions in written or verbal form including form including operating and maintenance instructions, work instructions, written policies and procedures, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence effectively and accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Machine Operators of the company.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires strong mathematical skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure with accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a maintenance role within an industrial environment, corrugated industry is advantageous.
  • Industrial Maintenance/Electrician Certifications/Programs/Training.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate ability to properly troubleshoot, install and sometimes perform basic repairs of frequency drives.
  • Repair mechanical electrical problems of plant machinery. E.g. PLC’s Siemens, Allen Bradley, Power flex, Tele Mecanique, ABB, Lenze.
  • Demonstrate ability to properly troubleshoot, install and perform basic repairs of electronic devices such as safety scanners, safety lights, touch screens, e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Keyence.
  • Perform maintenance and electrical function and troubleshoot to correct inefficiencies and prevent equipment downtime by completing regular PM’s.
  • Use a muti-meter, and other electrical test equipment, along with electrical drawings, schematics, and your experience to diagnose problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Demonstrates ability to parallel all equipment, make all required settings and adjustments for optimum equipment performance to manufacture quality products.
  • Ability to perform schematics to incorporate changes of equipment functions as needed.
  • Complete all work orders neatly, correctly, and in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Willingly to work all necessary hours and shifts for customer demands.
  • Follows all safety and company policies, reporting any issues, accidents, or incidents immediately.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic computer knowledge.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
