About The Position

The Maintenance Technician B is a mid-level maintenance professional responsible for performing troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment. This role works with moderate supervision and collaborates closely with senior technicians while supporting entry-level team members. The Maintenance Technician B plays an important role in maintaining equipment performance, reducing downtime, and supporting a safe and compliant work environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience (recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of balers, conveyors, and processing equipment
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to follow established procedures
  • Ability to operate equipment and complete required documentation accurately
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently, safely, and on time
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs in accordance with company policies and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) requirements
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair fixed and rolling stock equipment including balers, conveyor systems, gearboxes, electrical motors, shafts, rollers, bearings, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics and manuals
  • Assist in identifying equipment issues and support root cause analysis efforts
  • Provide guidance and support to Maintenance Technician A team members as needed
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards
  • Support facility improvement projects and assist with equipment installations
  • Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required for operations and repairs
