About The Position

The Maintenance Technician Apprentice assists in the repair and maintenance of tools and machines used in production, this includes troubleshooting problems and maintaining records of maintenance and repairs, while completing a structured apprenticeship program. Under the supervision of experienced maintenance technicians, the apprentice gains hands-on experience and classroom training to develop the skills required to become a certified Maintenance Technician. Apprentices will start on first shirt for 1-2 years and will then transfer to night shift for a 6.5 year commitment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Enrollment in or willingness to enter a state-certified Apprenticeship Program.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine alignment, and electrical troubleshooting
• Ability to follow directions, work safely, and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Good attendance, work ethic, and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting, diagnose, and repair mechanical presses, CNC mills and overhead cranes issues
• Disassemble, reassemble and test complex machines under supervision
• Gain Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience
• Learn to read and interpret PLC logic
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulations
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Record training hours and tasks completed as part of apprenticeship documentation.
• Attend and successfully complete all required technical instruction and evaluations.
• Communicate effectively with mentors and ask questions to support skill development.
• Other duties as assigned
