About The Position

The Maintenance Technician 3 is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fixed plant and mineral processing equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This technical role requires advanced skills and experience. This role supports crushing, conveying, grinding/milling, flotation, pumping, and related processing systems by performing corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on critical assets such as crushers, conveyors, ball mills, slurry pumps, motors, gearboxes, and process piping. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in minimizing downtime by quickly diagnosing equipment failures, executing quality repairs, and identifying root causes to improve long-term reliability. Working closely with operations and metallurgy teams, this position helps ensure equipment availability meets production targets while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards, MSHA compliance, and best-practice maintenance procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of mining experience; strong hydraulic, mechanical and industrial skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
  • Perform simple mechanic duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
