About The Position

Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., established in 1994, is hheadquartered [https://www.univstainless.com/bridgeville-facility/] in Bridgeville, PA, with plants in North Jackson, OH, Dunkirk, NY, and Titusville, PA. Universal Stainless produces semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries. Universal is committed to providing the best quality, delivery, and service possible. Primary Function Maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment in assigned areas, and throughout facility. Sources of Supervision Generally, works independently and requires minimum direction. Position reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance.

Requirements

3-5 Years relevant experience preferred
Mechanical ability
Analytical Ability
Basic Welding Skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics
Must be trained in all areas of mechanical testing and repairs
Successfully pass the Ransey Mechanical Aptitude test RR110 and Ramsey Mech Test RR16-A
Successfully pass the applicable Technical College Test Stand
Must be able to walk management through schematics

Nice To Haves

AS trade school mechanical / electrical disciplines preferred
Hydraulics / pneumatics / electrical skill sets
Knowledge of mechanical working in steel-related or industrial environment.
Journeyman papers preferred

Responsibilities

Perform miscellaneous repair work, including but not limited to installing pumps, boiler repair, pipe fitting, etc.
Inspects, repairs, and maintains facility equipment, including but not limited to rolling mill equipment, furnace mechanical equipment, mechanical shears, annealing equipment.
Assemble, dismantle and adjust mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including but not limited to conveyors, mill stands, mill housings, etc.
Perform welding, cutting, and burning when needed.
Interprets blueprints, and technical sketches.
Operate overhead crane and/or fork truck to move supplies and equipment.
Maintains a safe, and clean working area.
Any and all duties assigned.
