The Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing and installing manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum productivity of the operation.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist Diploma or equivalent OR previous advanced training and experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment is required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge and experience with machinery components, pumps, motors and controls.
Experience troubleshooting and documenting equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and handling repairs.
Flexibility concerning work activities and requirements.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.

Nice To Haves

Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) experience - an asset.

Responsibilities

Ensure that safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
Maintain, install and repair industrial parts and equipment within the plant to ensure a safe and reliable day to day operation of the plant equipment.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Management to troubleshoot repairs and manage regular maintenance and compliance programs.
Perform routine equipment preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication and inspection.
Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine work procedures.
Record and maintain documentation relating to maintenance activities and calibrations.
Complete daily site inspections and required reporting.
Understand all areas within the facility to include safe lock out procedures and equipment guarding.
Identify issues and unsafe work conditions and implement the required corrective actions.
Set-up, maintain and operate shop tools and equipment.
Manage spare part, supply and equipment inventories.
Other duties as assigned.
