About The Position

Qualified individual will be capable of evaluating and repairing all mechanical and hydraulic machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be capable of reading blue prints and their application to the production part.
  • Must have knowledge of production processes and be able to read work process instructions.
  • Must be able to use a tape measure, digital calipers, and a square to ensure the accuracy of work.
  • Equipment Selection - Determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the required job.
  • Quality Control Analysis - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability required to perform welding operations and capable of passing a 3G weld test. Settings and operational knowledge, quality of welds, safety precautions, etc.
  • The safe use of fabrication equipment including saws, drills, torch and plasma.
  • Capable of building from a print or drawing.
  • Must be capable of occasional horizontal lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be capable of frequent horizontal lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of occasional floor to waist lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of occasional waist to crown lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Work schedule may be over 8 hours a day.
  • Must be capable of pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • May be required to kneel, bend, crouch, forward bend stand in order to complete job assignment.
  • May be required to work overhead.
  • Must be able to work during hot or cold temperatures. Summer time temperatures can reach or exceed 100 degrees.
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Must have a minimum of six (6) years of proven experience in the applicable trade or must possess Journeyman certification or has completed an approved apprenticeship and/or training program.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must supply own hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Do preventative maintenance work, trouble shoot and repair problems on industrial machinery (roll-overs, lift tables, tilt stations, & paint systems)
  • Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Be personally responsible and committed to the quality of one's own work.
  • Work above production standards.
  • Operate hand held cutting tools (Torches, Plasma Cutters).
  • Complete confined space training.
  • Insure accuracy in maintaining production records (Example: travelers, timecards).
  • Check parts to Quality Control Documents.
  • Participate in all required training programs to maintain skill levels for continuous improvement.
  • Successfully complete training program.
  • Operate lift truck within the guidelines of the McLaughlin Body Powered Industrial Vehicle Program.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Wear and maintain the required protective clothing and equipment including: safety glasses, steel toe safety shoes, and hearing protection. Additional protection may be needed like gloves or Kevlar sleeves.
