About The Position

SUMMARY: Perform minor maintenance and repair on production machines and equipment and on the buildings. Assist Maintenance Mechanics on general installation, maintenance and repair work. Use various hand tools and operate simple machines. Perform simple carpentry, plumbing and building repairs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist and work under the supervisor in the installation, maintenance and repair of all types of machines, equipment and plant facilities. Reviews blueprints and performs ordinary carpentry, plumbing, building and grounds repair and maintenance as needed. Personally perform maintenance and repair work. Load and unload machines and equipment and set in place as directed, haul materials for Mechanics using lift trucks, hoists and other available materials handling equipment. Assist in relocating present machines and equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance and servicing tasks such as oiling, greasing, inspecting equipment and making simple adjustments. Use hand tools and ordinary shop equipment such as the drill press, power saw, and pipe-threading machine. Maintains all reporting documents in relation to scrap, quality and work related downtime. Perform basic soldering skills to construct cables and wiring harnesses. Soldering skills will be required to make component level PC board repairs as instructed by supervisor. Fabricate and wire system control enclosures according to print and as directed by supervisor. Perform routine maintenance and report any repair needed in timely manner. Works effectively with others in a team based environment to accomplish company goals and to identify and resolve problems. Possess the ability to read and interpret complex to simple shop drawings and bill of materials. Must follow and observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain a clean and safe work area. Must follow proper lock out/tag out protocol to meet OSHA and company guidelines. Ability to multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the shift. Electrical experience/Certification or equivalent Read and interpret shop drawings PLC/Control logic capability Perform other related duties as prescribed by supervision. Ability to multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the shift. Perform other related duties as prescribed by supervision. Backfills supervisor when supervisor is not present. Coaches and trains other employees to perform their tasks in production. Helps load Customer Pickups, containers, and unloads tube truck. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; or combination of high school and/or technical/trade school attendance specializing in the field of maintenance with emphasis on mechanical, welding and electrical disciplines.
  • Ability to read/ comprehend blueprints and follow instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and participate, contribute and support all team
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, bill of materials, part numbers and part descriptions to aid in solving inventory control.
  • Also, must be able to follow instructions, read and prepare short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and perform trigonometric and geometric calculations.
  • Must be able to be an extension of the supervisor and work in a team environment and participate, contribute and support all team activities.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.
