ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The maintenance crew will ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, hoists and other production machinery; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Perform routine maintenance on machines like forklifts, hysters and scissor lifts KEY FUNCTIONS The ability to read and interpret documents such as blue prints, diagrams and service manuals. The ability to understand instructions in English or Spanish is helpful. Employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The ability to stand for long periods of time for most of the work day. Temperature will vary with the outside temperature.
