About The Position

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is crucial to maintaining smooth operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and supporting the maintenance team in preventing production disruptions. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and ready to handle a variety of maintenance tasks in a dynamic industrial setting.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a preference for paper mill environments; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, electrical components, and industrial equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, manufacturer specifications, schematics, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Extensive knowledge of hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, precision-measuring, and testing instruments used to safely and effectively complete tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to observe, identify, and detect mechanical issues through sound and vibration analysis while machinery is in operation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Safely repair and perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, and cleaning on machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machinery.
  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support installation and setup of new equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment failures or safety hazards.
  • Document maintenance activities and report findings to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge of paper mill operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
