General Summary Coordinate job assignments, orders, and processes for Team Members and work activities in DRIV’s maintenance or tooling areas. Assist in maintaining an efficient work environment and meeting productivity standards. Resolve scheduling conflicts and routine problems in the work unit as they arise and participate in Team Member training sessions as needed. Understand all business processes in assigned area of responsibility and be capable of performing all essential work unit duties. Notify the Maintenance Manager of any occurrences that negatively impact maintenance and repairs. Adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of high school highly preferred; additional training or certification as required for the area worked.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet daily work requirements.
  • Knowledge of the work area to perform same work as those coached.
  • Demonstrated computer skills.
  • Ability to coach and train for basic job performance improvements.
  • Typically, entry level - 2 years of experience.
  • Associate Skills plus:
  • Basic knowledge of all DRIV Maintenance or Tooling processes to move from one area of the manufacturing facility to another as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and coach/train for basic job performance improvements.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and expectations.
  • Typically, 2 – 4 years of experience.
  • Associate & Core Skills plus:
  • Advanced knowledge of all DRIV Maintenance or Tooling processes to move from one area of the manufacturing facility to another as needed.
  • Leadership experience to provide guidance to a large work unit of more than one work unit.
  • Typically, 4+ years of experience.
  • Climb/Balance: Frequently required.

  • Lifting: continuously lifting objects weighing 5lb – 40lb, frequently lifting objects 40lb – 60lb, occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 100lb.
  • Knowledgeable of maintenance processes. Capable of performing most, if not all of the skills to troubleshoot electrical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair of production machines, tools and dies and other equipment.
  • Repair and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Provide first response to work area problems. Document problems, resolve when possible and follow-up with appropriate individual or group to ensure the problem is corrected in a timely fashion. Serve as ‘go to’ person for production-related and process-related issues that slow down the workflow.
  • Assign work and coordinate job assignments based on daily production needs and scheduled staff. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. May participate in daily production and shift change meetings.
  • Maintain and organize maintenance, time and production records. Prepare reports on attendance, productivity, quality and safety. Enter data into designated workbooks designed, and amended periodically, by the Supervisor. May need to utilize and manipulate some MS Access queries to get specific information.
  • Monitor potential safety issues and immediately alert the Supervisor of unsafe conditions or events hazardous to the environment. Suggest ways to improve work area safety and lead by example in adhering to safety standards at all times.
  • Capitalize on cross-training opportunities to increase the knowledge of all employees in all areas of operations (in consultation with the Supervisor).
  • Perform other tasks and assignments that are consistent with knowledge and training.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair to meet productions requirements, and communicating the status of the repairs to operations, and the other shift leaders.
  • Ensures high priority work is efficiently received from the previous shift, performed, and passed to the next shift as necessary.
  • Participates in, leads, and organizes meetings including shift change, safety and team meetings.
  • Monitors maintenance supplies and places orders as needed.
  • Orients, trains and/or oversees training of employees in maintenance processes. May work with Maintenance Manager to design and implement development plans for less skilled employees.
  • Provides attendance and performance-related information to supervisor to assist in preparation of performance reviews.
  • Completes daily maintenance paperwork including work orders, shift logs, and maintaining the Gemba board.
  • Supports production promptly with quality service, in a professional manner.
  • Inspects and reports any unsafe machines or working conditions; and performs safety checks and 5S responsibilities.
  • Resolves employee conflicts and recommends disciplinary actions to Maintenance Manager as necessary.
  • Works to continuously improve the procedures and processes for maintenance.
  • Works to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Influences safety behavior by ‘leading by example”, notifies Maintenance Manager of unsafe conditions or events hazardous to the environment and shuts down operations if unable to resolve or rectify, promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions, suggests ways to improve the environment and employee health and safety. May participate in daily production meeting.
