About The Position

Working for a world-class leader in building structures and bridges, a Schuff Steel Team Leader brings his/her expertise and knowledge in steel materials to directly supervise and coordinate production employees performing fabrication of raw materials and parts. Critical to the production process this position directs and assists employees to perform such duties ensuring production needs are met. The Team Leader utilizes a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the trade including knowledge of steel fabrication. Requirements

  • The position requires a minimum of at least eight (8) years of related experience in the field of maintenance and robotic repair in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Roll forming equipment repair is also required.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of welding and steel-working process and equipment may include but not limited to cranes and rigging, forklifts Roll Forming machinery and applicable testing equipment; Robotic machinery and applicable testing equipment; all general and specialized tools required to maintain and repair production heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
  • Understand safe and proper operation of common machinery in a steel fabrication environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training and certification in maintenance repair of heavy machinery equipment is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installs and completes preventative and predictive maintenance processes and procedures
  • Utilizes standard fabrication procedures for equipment setup and repair
  • Produces preventative maintenance schedules
  • Responds and repairs to equipment breakdowns
  • Works with operators and manufacturing representatives to troubleshoots and identifies equipment failures with corrective methods.
  • Logs and records all maintenance repair and preventative procedures.
  • Orders and inventories of necessary parts and equipment.
  • Identifies safety hazards and communicates safety controls.
  • Attends production meetings as needed and required
  • Produces cost repair and estimates to management for approval.
