About The Position

The Level 1 Tank Trailer Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and safety of our food-grade tank trailers. Under the supervision of experienced technicians this position is responsible for basic maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs of our specialized tank trailers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
  • Basic understanding of food-grade tank trailer components and systems
  • Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality and work standards
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to work any schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read and understand technical service manuals

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in trailer fabrication, particularly food-grade tank trailers.
  • Welding certification
  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge related to trailers
  • AWS certification
  • Knowledge of 3A procedures and finishes for food grade inner barrel repair

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure the cleanliness and integrity of food-grade tank trailers
  • Conduct inspections to ensure all Mechanical, Electrical, and Attachment systems are in accordance with DOT and WDT requirements
  • Assist in the cleaning and sanitization of tank interiors following industry standards
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as brake adjustments, tire changes, and lighting repairs
  • Assist senior technicians in making minor repairs and adjustments
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and cleaning activities
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and federal and state regulations at all times
  • Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventative maintenance; and calling for repairs
  • Travel within designated region for service calls and temporary roadside maintenance
  • Participate in training programs to develop technical skills
  • Other related duties as assigned
