About The Position

The responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor is to directly oversee the production maintenance, packaging maintenance, and/or electrical maintenance to ensure that plant equipment and structures are in good operating condition. This position also manages, develops, and engages maintenance personnel to support operational excellence.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business, science, or engineering from an accredited college or university and at least three years of experience in a food manufacturing facility; or over five years of experience in a food manufacturing facility required.
Ability to read, comprehend, and compose simple to complex instructions, polices, procedures, and correspondence.
Must have effective oral and written communication skills when dealing with small and large groups.
Ability to conduct professional and compelling presentations and respond appropriately to questions.
Facilitates meetings effectively and efficiently.
Proficient in using Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Possesses strong analytical, quantitative, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Demonstrates self-confidence and maturity to make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction.
Organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to creatively apply experience and common sense to a variety of situations, processes, and people.
Team player, flexible and accepting of changes to assignments and accountabilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience with CMMS's (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred.

Responsibilities

Manages maintenance personnel, which includes but is not limited to, communicating job expectations, addressing performance concerns, managing attendance, issuing disciplinary actions when needed, investigating and resolving employee issues, reducing turnover through employee engagement, and recognizing employees on a regular basis.
Maintains equipment in good operating condition to minimize downtime.
Works with Operations to coordinate and schedule downtime to maintain equipment. Plans and executes major overhauls on equipment, when necessary.
Coordinates the maintenance of the entire factory, including buildings and grounds. Additionally, oversees fabrication and welding when needed.
Monitors the operation of all utility systems such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
Coordinates with planning and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials in order to avoid unnecessary downtime.
Coordinates and maintains an effective preventative maintenance program, including the establishment of records that can be used for predictive and preventive maintenance.
Assists Maintenance Manager in the adherence to maintenance budget, including the labor budget.
Participates in the training of Maintenance Technicians and ensures that job skills are validated in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Oversees the execution of planned and scheduled works, including auditing performance and quality of work.
Manages contractor relationships and oversees quality and timeliness of work performed.
Communicates all pertinent information to direct reports and other maintenance personnel.
Takes an active role in process improvement initiatives, employee training, and continuous improvement projects.
Embraces a safety conscious attitude with direct reports and other team members and takes responsibility for minimizing and eliminating all incidents, injuries, and accidents within the Maintenance Department.
Reports all incidents, injuries, and accidents and completes the required incident investigation, root cause analysis, and any other reporting requirements.
Complies with all safety programs, including LOTO, behavior observations, confined space, hot works, ladder safety, emergency response, chemical safety, PPE, fall protection, incident investigations, hearing protection, etc.
All other duties, responsibilities, and projects as assigned or required.
