About The Position

We are excited to invite a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team! Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a vital part in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained residential environment for the families we serve. In collaboration with the management team, the Maintenance Supervisor will manage daily building operations, oversee preventative maintenance efforts, and lead maintenance staff. Families can make the most of their stay through accessing an array of onsite programs. Many of these programs are also available to people living in the local community. Our goal is to have a positive impact so families can thrive long after they leave our shelters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience
  • At least 1 year of Management/Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and supervise maintenance department staff.
  • Plan, assign, and oversee daily schedules and work assignments for maintenance personnel.
  • Address performance issues, including discipline and termination, in accordance with organization all policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and evaluate building systems and facilities to identify maintenance needs and required repairs.
  • Assess building conditions to develop work plans, prioritize tasks, and establish project timelines.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely, accurately, and within established time frames.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance inventory and supplies to support efficient operations.
  • Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs throughout the facility.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the property and take corrective action to uphold the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
