About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee and ensure all manufacturing equipment performance is optimal for given products and to assign Maintenance Technician(s) accordingly to any Mechanical, Electrical or Building System requiring PM, repair or general maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating all work in conjunction with eMaint system to maintain, record, schedule and repair equipment, building operation and general maintenance. Physical demands Minimum lifting of 10lbs-Maximum lifting of 75lbs without assistance, constantly Pushing and pulling a minimum of 10lbs-maximum of 75lbs without assistance, constantly Tightening and fastening of multiple fasteners i.e.) bolts, nuts, and screws Pushing and pulling up to 100lbs with assistance, occasionally Lifting up to 100lbs with assistance, occasionally Crouching constantly Twisting constantly Bending/stooping constantly Walking constantly Balancing frequently Climbing constantly Crawling frequently Kneeling constantly Environment, Health & Safety: Exposure to dust and spices, flames, water, heat/extreme cold, vibrations and noise Exposure to environments of Working At Heights (WAH), Confined Space, and Chemically Hazardous areas. Must follow company EHS policies, rules & guidelines

Requirements

  • Must comply and have experience working with and enforcing Plant safety, GPM’s, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Must maintain a high quality level of housekeeping in all areas of oversight.
  • Experience managing chemicals in bulk and 55 gallons drum.
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of computerized management systems (CMMS, ERP, etc.) to facilitate maintenance activities, manage records, and develop reports. Utilization of system to improve performance.
  • Experience in leading the hiring process when there is an active search.
  • Must conduct annual performance and safety reviews.
  • Must be able to coordinate all maintenance activities with production as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize, review, schedule, and assign appropriate personnel for Preventative Maintenance tasks, general repairs, improvement projects, and emergency repairs.
  • Must have fundamental electrical and mechanical knowledge for installation and repair of industrial equipment.
  • Must have hands on experience to perform welding fabrication of carbon steel & stainless steel.
  • Advance knowledge working with purchasing, inventory control, and accounting operations.
  • Must be able to recognize equipment needs for spares and recommended quantities.
  • Must develop equipment Standard Operating Procedures and revise existing as changes become apparent.
  • Must follow, enforce, and train all Direct Reports on existing SOPs, record, and submit to Safety Department.
  • Participate in plant inspections (monthly GMP reviews), customer audits, and plant tours.
  • Continuously inspect plant equipment, operational status of systems, and general plant condition both within and external to Areas of Concentration with respect to food and OSHA safety guidelines.
  • Must maintain Direct Reports’ personnel records, timesheets, attendance, and performance reviews throughout the calendar year.
  • Prepare and conduct weekly (or as directed by designated Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager) safety meetings with Direct Reports.
  • Must have boiler equipment understanding and knowledge of Culinary Steam system operation and inspection processes. Water treatment knowledge a plus.
  • Must identify areas of improvement for equipment, processes, maintenance activities and develop a plan to execute and bring to completion.
  • Must have 4-5 years of Maintenance Supervisory experience and 5-7 years as maintenance tradesman
  • Displays a professional attitude while at work and when called upon.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate both up and down management levels.
  • Must have forklift operation training.
  • Organized and follows up on both assigned tasks and routine job responsibilities.
  • Possess interpersonal, leadership, problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of food manufacturing or similarly governed processes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage team associates independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
  • Must have valid driver license with clean record
  • Must be able to work 3-4 hours standing on hard surfaces and work

Nice To Haves

  • HAZCOM certification is considered a plus.
  • Advance education, training or certification in fields related to job considered a plus.
  • Formal training certification is a plus.
  • For this position, all diplomas, licenses and other credentials to be considered a plus
  • Water treatment knowledge a plus.
