Requirements

  • Five years' experience in building maintenance, experience in trades is helpful.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to use independent discretion and judgment.
  • Certificate of fitness for Fire Safety Director preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
  • Vaccination preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned maintenance staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of facility.
  • Oversee Maintenance Workers and, when needed, perform repairs requiring skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical.
  • Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager with preventative maintenance of boiler/domestic hot water system, conducting periodic maintenance and inspection of elevators, sprinkler systems, fire alarm system and fire extinguishers.
  • Arrange for and oversee outside contractors as directed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of fuel.
  • Receive and store deliveries of maintenance/office supplies.
  • Lifting of boxes and moving furniture as needed.
  • Be a member of the fire safety team.
  • Participate in fire drills.
  • On call for emergencies, this may require early and/or late hours.
  • Related duties as assigned.
